S.p.a., the Festival is the result of a project aimed to connect the artistic realities of
the international survey through cultural runs connected both to the territory, both to
the thematic more representative of the baroque music. It is planned also a section
devoted to the "survival" of the cultural thematics of the XVI and XVII century
in the modern and contemporary music.
The forty shows (in fifty days) they won't have replicas and they won't be in overlap
in the various cities. This operation has the tendency to sustain the amplest project of
"cultural - musical tourism" and to approach the public, the tourist and the
traveller to the places of the whole Baroque patrimony.
The itinerary, articulated on a triennial project, it unties in various seams:
- the Six hundred century music perpetuation through the dialectical comparison with the
contemporary reality: Bach-Penderecki, the orchestra Jazz of the Mediterranean with the
young talent Francis Cafiso, Bac[k] in swing, Copies and Transcripts of author,
Stravinskij (Pulcinella), to Dance the Baroque.
- the promotion and the exploitation of the job of musicological search through first
absolute executions of unpublished passages till now: the Lamentations of the Saint Week
by Paul Altieri.
- the examination of the sacred representations of the beginnings of Six hundred century:
Orations & Orchestrated spiritual exercices (Ensemble Seicentonovecento directed by
Flavio Colusso), the Representation of Soul and of Body by Emilio de' Cavalieri.

- the execution during the liturgy (and in Latin) of the Evenings of the Blessed Virgo and
the Missa In Illo Tempore by Claudio Monteverdi, always edited by the Ensemble Concert
directed by Roberto Gini (2005/2006);
- the exploitation of the precious organ patrimony of the district: the inauguration of
the organ of Donato del Piano recently restored.
- the close examination of a sacred thematic tied up to the Mediterranean as the Stabat
Mater.
- the integral execution (in the period 2005/2007) of the sonatas for violin by Bach and
Händel performed by the Ensemble l'Astrée.

instrumental.

show): Baroque Women, heroins of the Baroque musical (2005) or the women protagonists of
the oratorîs of Händel (2006/2007).
- the exploitation of Sicilian important centers of musical study (Study of Music ancient
Anthony Il Verso of Palermo) and of Sicilian reality (room Orchestra Archimedea, Baroque
